My Story
I am Armandina Ramírez Tamez, a Mexican psychologist living in Amsterdam. My passion for psychology and well-being stems from my own experiences as an immigrant and my curiosity to understand how cultures influence human behavior.
At 17, I had the opportunity to do an exchange program in Germany for a year during high school. Without social media like we have today and living in a small town, I fully immersed myself in a culture very different from my own. This experience brought about a significant culture shock that made me question my identity and reflect on how cultures shape our lives. Upon returning to Mexico, I decided to study Psychology at the University of Monterrey, laying the foundation for my professional career.
My interest in exploring cultural differences led me to live in the Amazon Jungle in Peru, where I volunteered in a small community called Pebas, and even to Turkey, working for the exchange organization Youth for Understanding. These experiences enriched my perspective and reinforced my desire to understand and support people in multicultural contexts.
Later, I pursued a master’s degree in Psychology at Maastricht Unversity in the Netherlands. Since then, I have made my home in Amsterdam, where I am fortunate to work with an international and diverse community. I specialize in helping expatriates manage stress, adapt to new environments, and build fulfilling lives away from home.
Additionally, I am certified in Intuitive Eating, combining my knowledge in psychology with physical and emotional well-being. I have merged my professional expertise with my love for nature and outdoor activities, creating workshops and sessions that integrate mind and body. Through NutriMind, I offer therapy and resources in Spanish and English to support those seeking emotional balance and well-being in their international lives.

Career Path
My career as a psychologist began in 2009, when I volunteered with the student exchange organization Youth for Understanding. In this role, I served as a counselor and guide for Mexican students in international programs and foreign students participating in exchange programs in Mexico, promoting their cultural adaptation and emotional well-being. This experience strengthened my intercultural communication skills and gave me a deep understanding of the emotional needs of young people undergoing change and adaptation.
A Little More About Me
My journey has taken me from the mountains of Monterrey, where I discovered my love for nature and outdoor sports, to the streets of Amsterdam, where I currently live. This contrast between landscapes and cultures has taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the power of finding beauty in every stage of life.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring new bike routes, practicing sports such as dancing, swimming, and yoga, and caring for my two adorable cats. I am also passionate about music, especially the piano, which I play to reconnect with myself after intense days. My experiences as an expatriate and nature lover have inspired my therapeutic approach: I firmly believe that our connection with the environment, our history, and our emotions are key to building a full and authentic life.
Through Nutrimind, my mission is to share what I’ve learned on my own journey, helping others find balance, strength, and purpose, no matter where they are in the world or in their personal journey.
